The Biography of Oloruntoba Oluwadamilola Falode (Tyler Fray)

Oluwadamilola Oloruntoba Falode was born on the 19th of May 1994 to the family of Chief Gabriel Abiodun Falode and Mrs. Aisha Falode in Lagos, Nigeria. He was a student of Corona Nursery and Primary School and attended Atlantic Hall, Poka Epe Lagos for his secondary school education.
Toba was lively, bubbly and as his friends have rightly said “the guy with the biggest smile that lit up a room” whether people liked it or not. He loved his music: at home, in school, walking, he always had a pair of earphones handy to plug in and listen to music and develop his sound. My brother was passionate. He had a flare for life that was contagious and drew people to him like a magnet. He made friends easily and spoke confidently about his dreams and ambitions.

He was a friendly young man. And as another friend has said “everyone just fell in love” with him. Toba was a dreamer-he was confident in the reality of his ambitions, which made him sure footed in his decisions. Everywhere he stepped into-he changed, affected, and lifted the environment with his quiet confidence and his infectious smile.

This became Tyler Hendrix Fray-his alter ego. Tyler Fray was a musician-he started singing at the age of 6 and started writing his own lyrics at the age of 9. He decided he wanted music to be his career and proved it most definitely was not a phase to his friends and his family members. He took his music seriously. He aimed to be at the very top in the music industry, which is what brought him to SAE Institute Dubai to further his knowledge of music and finesse his craft.

Tyler Fray was methodical with his music. He used his lyrics to convey his message-he constantly developed his sound. He loved to experiment with beats constantly. He was continuously growing and grooming his craft-writing songs, developing beats, sharing his music with his friends, his family and the world-he was talented.

Toba was caring, kind and loved. He made an impact not just with his laugh, his smile but even his very presence brought joy. He was smart and had a quiet confidence that drew people in. He found his calling early in life in music and that shaped him into a charming, loving young man at the age of 19 ready to take on the world and make his mark.

Toba Falode aka Tyler Hendrix Fray was tragically murdered on the 15th of February 2014 in suspicious circumstances in Dubai, UAE. Toba was loved-he made a mark on those who met him because of his heart and humility. His passing hugely affected his family and loved ones to this very day.

The music of Tyler Hendrix Fray lives on. The vision of Toba Falode lives on. The voice of Tyler Fray lives on. His desire to give back to music through his own unique sound gave birth to the Tyler Fray Foundation, which aims to give young ambitious musicians a voice and a path to bring their dreams into reality in honor of the memory and legacy of Oluwadamilola Oloruntoba Falode aka Tyler Hendrix Fray.
